Odds converter
Convert a sportsbook price between American and decimal odds without changing the bet.
Your calculation
A worked example
American +150 converts to decimal 2.50: 1 + 150 ÷ 100. American −200 converts to decimal 1.50: 1 + 100 ÷ 200. In both formats, the price describes a payout, not a prediction.
The math
Positive American → decimal: 1 + odds ÷ 100. Negative American → decimal: 1 + 100 ÷ absolute odds. Decimal ≥ 2 → American: (decimal − 1) × 100. Decimal < 2 → American: −100 ÷ (decimal − 1).
Common questions
Does decimal 2.50 mean 250% profit?
No. It means a total return of 2.5 times the stake, including the stake. Profit is 1.5 times the stake.
Why can converted American odds have decimals?
A precise decimal quote does not always convert to a whole American number. The result shows a rounded conversion, not necessarily a price a sportsbook offers.
Can I enter decimal 1.00?
No. Decimal odds must be greater than 1 in this cash-stake calculator. A price of 1.00 would only return the stake if the bet wins.
